Scale the view to an appropriate level.
However, if you have the option within your standards to make it solid but reduced line thickness, you do have that option during the PDF generation.
And then you have the option of trying to re-identify the hidden line style. I am not familiar enough with this but we are suppose to be able to re-define line fonts via a table.
...And you can also copy (project) the features using sketch features and then assigning a different line style. I don't like most of the available defaults, but maybe there is one that is right for your requirements.
There is no right way, but we have options.
